Old pub games in sheffield

The Red Grouse at stocksbridge has a table bowls set and play on the full size snooker table, does anyone remember this game being played in the sheffield area.demo at

First time I have seen that but it looks O.K.

The game is easy to pick up and great fun for the rest of the pub to watch .The only drawback is the size of the table needed but we have seen sets of balls with a small table bias for sale on ebay.

I wonder how many pubs still have a Bar Billiards table. the last one i played on was in The white Hart in high green. sadly a pub long gone. I also remember one in the pub near the bottom of jawbone hill, coming into oughtibridge,cant remember its name.
