simonj   10 #3 Posted January 30, 2011 Old Mosborough is a nice place to live and although I'm only 200 yds away (as the crow flies) from the roads you mention I've never actually set foot on them. You will however, be within a couple of minutes walking distance of the following essential local amenities:  Pubs (Alma, George & Dragon, Royal Oak, The Queen, Vine) Chippy's (Tony's, Admiral)
 Share this content via...

Joe-b-1   10 #11 Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) The British Oak & Westfield are not in "Old Mosborough" !  The British oak is - the westfield estates aren't or the new westfield school but westfield crescent is.  Look at this, the British Oak is on Mosborough Moor.http://www.abdecor.co.uk/mosborough/history/rem/chapter3.htm  http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&xhr=t&q=mosborough+moor&cp=14&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Mosborough+Moor,+Mosborough,+Sheffield,+South+Yorkshire+S20+5AY&gl=uk&ei=t0xHTbveAdGYhQfH3bTXBA&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&sqi=2&ved=0CBoQ8gEwAA Edited February 1, 2011 by Joe-b-
 Share this content via...

It is not "old" Mosborough. Westfield Crescent is also in New Mosborough. "Old Mosborough is generally defined as Mosborough Village. The area around Queen Street, Chapel Street, High Street & Duke Street. This area is designated as an "Area of Historical Interest". Westfield Crescent is a relatively new estate and may become part of Old Mosborough in about 200 years.
