Dozy
Unless you paid by card and can produce a card statement to the exact amount, your screwed. Even if the OP does have a statement, or a receipt come to that, the shop is not obliged to give her a refund. You're only entitled to a refund for faulty goods, although a lot of retailers will give you a credit note (or refund) for non-faulty items as a good will gesture. NorthernStar
There's only one way to find out for sure, just take the software back and see what they say. After all they can only say no, what have you got to lose.

Can I claim a refund on sale items? It depends on why you want to return them. The Sale of Goods Act still applies, but you are not entitled to a refund if you were told of the faults before purchase, or if the fault should have been obvious to you. Also, you are not entitled to a refund if you simply change your mind about liking the goods.
Rampent
It really doesn't matter what the OP tells us. He is NOT entitled to a refund unless the goods are faulty. They might be . . . .

yosser_huges
They might be . . . . Again please explain. It's this kind of misinformation that wreaks havoc for shop owners country wide.
