Ghosthunter   10 #13 Posted August 4, 2010 When I said no druggies, I mean no cannabis or coke....that sort of filth.  But alcohol (which I know is a drug), taken in moderation, is fine by me.
 Share this content via...

dosxuk   10 #15 Posted August 4, 2010 Unfortuantly Embrace (sheffield) Escapade (ches) Liquid (rotherham) are all owned by the same company  Liquid is owned by Luminar, one of the biggest club operators in the country with venues across the UK. Embrace, Crystal, Escapade, Triology and several others are owned by Brook Leisure, quite a big company as club operators go but no where near the size of Luminar. Virtually all of Brook Leisure's venues are in Yorkshire and they're based in Wakefield.  If Sheffield's nightlife is currently rubbish - what is it missing? What would you invest money in opening? Satyr   10 #16 Posted August 4, 2010 If Sheffield's nightlife is currently rubbish - what is it missing? What would you invest money in opening?  Personally I'd love a late night cafe/bar. We had a few down in Bournemouth that would open till 6am Sundays, have a couple of guys sitting in a corner jamming on acoustic guitars/harmonicas, no trouble, no chavs, decent beer and a quite place to go after a club. Then Weatherspoons bought the main one and completely ruined it...
 Share this content via...
linzday   10 #17 Posted August 4, 2010 unfortunately, I think all of the 'less desirables' that used to gather in the clubs that are now slowly shutting down are spilling out into the remaining decent places. if anyone did open a new club and it started off decent, it would slowly descend into a chav hole cos they've got nowhere else to go at moment!! unless you had really strict rules and decent doormen (few n far between) that would actually uphold these all the time. When embrace first opened (after took over from kingdom) started off being really strict about who they let in, dress code etc but then slowly just started caring less about the type of people that went in and let in anybody and everybody to make as much money as possible. These days i'd rather just go round a few nice bars then take the party back home - at least then you can choose for yourself who you choose to party around!!
