ok ok, i work in a school and the food is never scalding hot. And they have trays to carry their food. And if it was really that hot then im sure there would have been many children with scalding hands with either spilling it or burnt mouths, as they dont feel for the temprature of their food they just shovel it in as fast as they can to get out to play

So it seems slightly strange to me...........

Ban custard from schools, and gravy cos that gets hot too.

If the child has blisters on her hand from contact with custard, and the school says the custard was only lukewarm, why not have the child up to the doctors to check out her skin sensitivity/allergy?

They should ban children from schools. Problem solved.
