Spaulding
Mr.Salway and Miss Coates, or Kitty, as we called her, were there in my time. She was a bit of a dragon, who insisted on good manners and no vulgarity. She had a problem with eating in the street, and set prefects to spy on everyone on the way to the bus stop. The old bat also hated lollies, or "sweets on sticks",as she called them. only_me
Some people use to say Salway wore a wig is that true?
Spaulding
don't remember the wig, but we always thought the French teacher was a bit limp wristed.I think his name was Jones, and he wore dark glasses.Whenever I read aloud, he'd cast up his eyes and lisp,"you speak good French, but with a common Yorkshire accent"

scout
We didn't have deportment or elocution lessons then. In 6th Secretarial with Mr Shaw we used to have horse riding lessons for deportment instead. Miss Ainsworth was the deputy then too. Did you Know Hazel Proctor, Jane Geddes or Mary Tyrell?
