It's probably the 4500W BigLites up at Don Valley. There are 8 of them in use, and they have a very narrow beam (~5deg), so can be seen for miles (outdoor use normally requires informing the CAA).

That's not a lot - thats only 1,000 amps a phase... They must be scaling back 'cos of the lekky bill!

Well its not how many lamps you have its how you use them is what I always say. I remember working on Meatloaf and they had these stupid truss towers with christ knows how many strobes what were constantly on - I have no idea how Meatloaf didn't have a fit.

i saw them last night in barnsley s7 but i dont hink they was from u2 as the police helicopter came from sheffield area but the lights were more like mexbrough area this was at 11pm
