  1. 1. Which will be the biggest threat?

The greatest threat to our children's and grand-children's future and to democracy in the UK comes from the Franco/German dictatorship of the European Union of Socialist Republics and our spineless politicians acquiescence to their every whim and dictat.

The inclusion of Turkey into the "European" Union and the influx of millions of Muslims into Europe will be catastrophic.

Franco/German dictatorship

Lol, are you writing from 1938 or something? Franco's not been in power for a while now and Germany is far from a dictatorship.

There's only side the Americans are on and that's their own. Or put it another way: How many British Sevicemen have lost their lives helping The US in Iraq, and how many Americans lost their lives helping us fight against fascist Argentina, in the Falklands war?

And how many US servicemen died helping to get us out of the brown stuff in two world wars - come on, get a grip :loopy:

The French and Germans dominate the EU parliament, come on wake up! Do pay attention to what's going on.

Exactly - far more than did Brits. And as for the Falklands, that was a 'private affair' that did not concern the US or require their help - though we were actually offered the use of an American carrier to stage our aircraft, but declined the offer.

i'm not arguing against that, i'm arguing against you're abuse of language, they are not dictatorships, and i liked my little joke about Franco.

Wars and religious battles have always happened if we are talking about a global threat to peace and global changes I thing it will come from:-

Some kind of super bug / virus.

Nuclear war

Meteor strike

I can only see something on this kind of scale having a global effect, don’t mention global warming / change that as enough threads of its own.

99942 Apophis, but that's not nearly as exciting and not nearly as dangerous as some of the silliness in this thread.

I do believe that some people on SF would turn around to take a last look at Sodom.

As Sir David King said (ex chief scientist) Climate change is a bigger threat than terrorism. So when the sea levels rise it will give all you Islamaphobes out there something to worry about. All those muslims will want somewhere to live when their lands are flooded.

That was two generations ago. Our relationship with the US (and more pertinently, their relationship with us) has changed since then. I'm not having a pop at them, but just because our nations fought side by side sixty years ago means very little nowadays in terms of foreign relations.
