  1. I'd be more than happy to forget everything around Christmas and Birthdays. I don't need any gifts or bottles of booze or clothes. If I do, I buy for myself as and when. I don't like cards as see them as a waste of paper and an expensive stamp. I can cope with a few days away somewhere but I'd do that anytime, not just when it's a birthday. If its for kids I can understand it, but I've never had kids so luckily escaped that too.

  2. I remember walking up Spital Hill as a young un and the road being lined with BMWs and people selling £5 bags of weed... you'd plead with them for just a little but more and they'd usually oblige... Good times.

I miss The Kashmir and Mangla...

You can't always judge a book by its cover.

Guardian readers are supposed to be tofu eating, sandal wearing members of the moderate left. Which is true-ish. I think most stereotypes do come from somewhere that has a grain of truth.

Or perhaps he could be a right winger reading the Guardian to see what the enemy is thinking.

I subscribe to The Guardian online but also have the Daily Hate app (non subscription) on my phone to see what the enemy is thinking (and also laugh at the comments).

I’ve been a couple of times and it’s good but I generally go to the Attercliffe one for the last 25 years

    thank you 👍

I've also been to the Conisbrough Indus but never Attercliffe.  Next time I go for a curry I'll go there
