cavedale behind castleton is fantastic, but a bit extreme! i like to follow the river valleys(porter, rivelin, loxley), as there's always some good downhill on the way back, and following the rivers out isn't too hard going. i find ordnance survey maps(outdoor, orange border) a good way to plot a route.

i ignored two and eventually they came round after the second. they were really polite and i wasn't threatened with eviction, i'm just on record now. ive given my phone number to my immediate neighbour, but i annoyed another recently so i've got a third appointment now. i'm not condoning my behaviour, just reassuring you it's nothing to worry about, especially if you're not guilty.

it's always gonna be better for people to remain in their motherland, but one look at Zimbabwe and you can't blame people for trying to get out. maybe if we had had this thinking in 1939 more lives could have been saved...

maybe if our forefathers hadn't fought and died in so many a corner of a foreign field (bullet catchers for the slavemasters, yet still heroes of course), we wouldn't be duty-bound under international law to clean up some of the mess we made...
