OK here's the score. I am 52 year old single bloke (though very fit for age) and I am looking to move sometime in the near future. I note from most of the share ads on various sites that most non-student sharing specifies younger age groups, normally using the term "young professional" and though I would describe myself as professional I sure as hell ain't young. Age isn't a barrier for me, friends vary from 20-63. What's your opinion? PS Please don't post insults. I will ignore them! Thanks MR A

Environment Agency: Good place to work?
Mr Average replied to Mr Average's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
Just thought you'd like to know I got a job with them! Very fortunate, and the recruitment process was quite testing. Start on the 29th. Better money....better work....! Can't wait! Thanks to those who posted info and support. Indeed I can find no-one who has a bad word to say about the EA as an employer. And as an aetheist I'd just like to apologise to God and thank him/her/it for the necessary divine intervention. -
Environment Agency: Good place to work?

Thanks for the info all. No negative intel from anyone working there so will apply. I am currently working in a specialised customer service role for a large govt dept but our team is being re-organised and I want to stay doing people and problem solving work and progress within that kind of role Thanks again and good luck to anyone else. God knows there are few enough jobs to apply for out there! -
Thanks for all the suggestions. Will book at SPA 1877 as just round the corner from my office Re all other suggestions - impossible to do you back yourself with a razor or anything. Try it there's loads of bits you can't reach

Why do red lights not apply to cyclists?
Mr Average replied to ratman's topic in General Discussions
This because some lights are activated by sensors beneath the road which don't respond to cycles. There are many of them. Worth a campaign or hop off, wheel it round , hop back on again when safe. -
How about this for 'The customer is always right'?
Mr Average replied to boutiquechoc's topic in General Discussions
Co-op also run some funeral services. A friend who ran one (dpwn south) and then sold it to them reports they have cranked the prices right up and hard sell. Their name is a mis-nomer indeed Netto is the true socialist shop!!!! -
Good news? I thought their HQ had burned to the ground or something.

Tess - kind offer politely refused!

Thanks mate. But they say ........"as pain free as possible" Didn't realise pain was involved! Still the price seems bearable (pun?) !

Thanks - that's an interesting response because I have spoken to 2 people who have had the same experience. Good luck with whatever else you're applying for! -

You know the day of electrically powered small vehicles can't come soon enough. Sinclair was ahead of his time in idea, so far ahead it nearly bankrupted him. -
No really. Now I am getting older (as if I wasn't getting older before!) upper body hair is becoming a real prob. I am a keen fell walker/runner, weight trainer, and the stuff is becoming uncomfortable and hazardous particularly when sweaty and then cold Also - it looks AWFUL So please, can someone recommend a beauty (trading standards issue in my case) salon where I can get a wax without feeling stupid walking in and asking for one. Any help appreciated.
