  1. Do you remember the Nazis? Blamed all the wrongs of their world on a religious conspiracy. They spread lies and misinformation about a religious minority.
  2. I'm loathe to mention it, but does anyone actually remember the Nazis these days? A fascist group that capitalised on fears and suspicions of a religious minority to spread their rhetoric of nationalism, race hatred and white power? Here we have a number of posts that instead of engaging with the argument about the EDL, and whether they are part of the problem here, constantly blame a religious minority for the existence and actions of their far-right movement and seek at all points to sideline discussion towards their object of hate. Fortunately, they are a complete joke, despite their actual violence against innocent people, rather than a genuine political threat. Ask yourself - do you want to be a fascist?
  3. I link to a news report by Sky news showing the far-right EDL demonstration today in Newcastle. You link to an Islamophobic website that is exposed here as peddling lies: http://www.loonwatch.com/tag/bare-naked-islam/
  4. "The English Defence League (EDL) is a racist organisation whose main activity is street demonstrations against the Muslim community. Although it claims only to oppose Islamic extremism it targets the entire Muslim community and its actions deliberately seek to whip up tensions and violence between Muslim and non-Muslim communities." (source: http://www.hopenothate.org.uk/hate-groups/edl/)
  5. You have to ask yourselves, amidst all of the pro-EDL anti-Muslim rhetoric on this thread about the far-right EDL, do you want to be represented by these people, the ones composing the EDL, filmed 'demonstrating' in Newcastle today: http://tyneandwear.sky.com/news/article/68732/edl-and-anti-fascists-march-through-newcastle-city-centre when all reasonable people oppose the hatred, racism and intolerance the EDL represents? While magically these moderate people of Britain, who despise the EDL, manage to oppose other forms of extremism without resorting to attacks on the police, violence against others, discrimination, and the irrational hatred of one religion.
  6. Nigel Molesworth would not endorse the far-right EDL nor your anti-Muslim rhetoric. Shame on you. Fules.
  7. No, I'm comparing your argumentative tactics and the rhetoric of the EDL to those of Herman Goering. But you knew that.
  8. Herman Goering, right-hand man of Hitler, said this at the Nuremberg Trials in 1946: "The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peace makers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
  9. Newcastle Unite! As if proof was needed that the EDL are not simply opposed by one organisation: http://tyneandwear.sky.com/news/article/68732/edl-and-anti-fascists-march-through-newcastle-city-centre "The message from Newcastle is, You're not welcome in Newcastle, Get out!" The far-right EDL will be hounded off the streets of Newcastle as they were hounded off the streets of Sheffield. They will be opposed and exposed as the hateful racists that they are.
  10. And if you need any proof of it: http://edlreview.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/edl-and-nazi-salutes.html
  11. You have to realise how blatant your tactics are - when faced with accusations that the EDL is a party of the far-right your pathetic ruse is to direct attention to a completely different subject, usually involving 'leftists' or 'Muslims'. Pathetic.
  12. Misinformation... Misrepresentation... Classic far-right EDL nonsense. White British and American forces kill people too, just as you can say that 'Muslims' killed many abroad. There's another side to your web of misinformation. And talking up the crimes of others does not justify the 150 anti-Muslim attacks that have occurred in the last few days (source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/may/25/woolwich-murder-attacks-on-muslims) What you write does not justify the campaign of violence, hatred and racism of the EDL. Defenders of the EDL willingly out themselves on this forum - welcome to the light of the public!
  13. The pro-EDL posters on this forum and the EDL who spread their message of hatred and intolerance should be ashamed of themselves. 150 anti-Muslim incidents have been reported in the last few days: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/may/25/woolwich-murder-attacks-on-muslims Quote: "They're coming in from right across the country," he told the BBC. "Secondly, some of them are quite aggressive; very focused, very aggressive attacks. And thirdly, there also seems to be significant online activity … suggesting co-ordination of incidents and attacks against institutions or places where Muslims congregate." I suppose the great thing about social media and this forum is that the people who peddle their racist opinions can be identified and brought to justice. Two arrests have already been made on the basis of racist Twitter comments. Just a heads up to those who support the EDL on this forum - you're outing yourselves now.
  14. No, the problem is when people take to the streets to proclaim violence and racism in the name of the far-right EDL (in this case, because we're talking about the EDL - the NF and BNP did it before they got swallowed up in the EDL). The EDL are standing up for their racist beliefs. If you're in any doubt about what the EDL stand for, see this investigation: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/may/28/english-defence-league-guardian-investigation If you thought that the far-right EDL represents white people's 'beliefs' and not 'racism', perhaps you will think again when presented with the evidence.
  15. Yep, better things to do. Keep chasing your tails, EDL folk!
  16. Are you a fan of Owen Jones then? He's an outspoken critic of racism and fascism of all forms and does not prioritise the white working class above other races. To claim him for a point of defence of the EDL is a gross misrepresentation. The EDL detest Owen Jones, but for the fact he speaks up for freedom of expression. Here's an article by him about the EDL: http://owenjones.org/2011/02/09/banning-the-edl-or-being-careful-what-you-wish-for/ Quote: "The dramatic rise of the virulently Islamophobic English Defence League has provoked understandable fear throughout the left. When they have marched through town centres, they have been intimidating (particularly to British Muslims), and participants have been heard yelling racist abuse."
  17. Seems to be the EDL's modus operandi, so it would fit speculation
  18. The EDL make everyone feel unsafe on 'their own streets' (as if anyone 'owns' their streets).
  19. Who turned up to have a fight on Wednesday night in Woolwich? It became news because the EDL turned up and had a riot with the Met police force. Then tried to burn down two mosques.
  20. And now being perpetuated by the EDL, as the two attacks on mosques in two days have proved.
  21. The major difference is that 'muslim extremists' are not a political party, just some kind of fantasy enemy to the EDL. I know nuance isn't too well received here, but...
  22. The EDL as a 'party' is opposed by all mainstream political parties as well as anti-fascist organisations. Hope Not Hate was set up through cross-party support in direct response to the BNP attempting to get a foothold in local elections. ---------- Post added 24-05-2013 at 20:27 ---------- As for threats. We're talking about serious organised hate crimes perpetuated by the EDL, the first being the attack on the mosque in Woolwich the night of the murder. A suspect is in custody on charges of carrying an offensive weapon and carrying a homemade explosive with the intent to cause grievous harm. The second crime occurred in Milton Keynes last night. A petrol bomb attack on a mosque: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-22654435 This is the effect of the fascist EDL.
  23. It's like watching a dog chase its tail.
  24. The neo-Nazi EDL can't wash its hands of its despicable image. It's there for everyone to see in videos, reports and investigations, online, in the papers, through reputable and impartial sources. You can't distract us from that.
  25. Isn't that in Nick Clegg's constituency? Was it racially-motivated/related to EDL/Woolwich?
