Yes it does stink. It happened to me yesterday. I knew there was £19 on my card from an original amount of £50 bought by my kids who put together for last Xmas. I had only checked the amount in November and they never told me about the time limit even though they had to go on the screen to check the balance. My card expiry date is 10/12. This is downright disgraceful. What about people who buy gifts in advance to spread the costs. When I spoke to the finance company they said it was Meadowhall's policy, Meadowhall said it was the finance company. Nobody wants responsibility and the customer loses out. I always thought that the customer was always right.

can i ask how much is your house worth and what length of lease do you have left? The council just sold our lease to a London company who has asked for £3500 to buy!

Anybody tell me how much it would cost to go to a leasehold valuation tribunal, if you are unhappy with the price you have beeb asked to buy your freehold? How does it work and how long does it take?

Has anyone who owns their own home but pay ground rent to council had their leasessold off?
