@Andrew. yes we normally play at Ponds Forge but all of December there's stuff booked there and the rest of the sport halls in Sheffield are no better this month. Normally we have enough courts to accomodate about 20-25 people.

Tuesday 11 December:Christmas Dinner for all who signed up! Thursday 13 December:BADMINTON! I have tried all sport halls in Sheffield and there were only 5 courts available so I booked them all....... BADMINTON Hi all. All of December there's Christmas events in Ponds Forge and therefore we can't play there anymore. I tried Goodwin, Hillsborough and EIS but all are fully booked or got events next Tuesday and Thursday. The only courts available were 2 courts in Hillsborough from 8.30pm to 10pm. Because we only have 2 courts I have to restrict the number of people to 12/13.... OK people. some people have booked half the sports hall agian so I could only book the following: 3 courts from 8pm till 9.30 1 court from 8.45 till 9.30 So we have to be patient again! I will book more courts in advance next week to make sure we have more courts, I can always cancel them because this group is taking up all our courts and therefore we can't play to full potential :-(. see you tomorrow!

Aaron. I had a look at the terms and conditions for entry of the league/tounament. And we have a few serious problems: - The Tournament is restricted to players who are eligible to represent Yorkshire Badminton Association in the ICC. - Players must be a registered member of a club affiliated to BE even if paying their affiliation fee through the Coaching Register and must give their current affiliation number on their entry form. - Clothing must meet current BADMINTON England regulations But what also worries me is that you HAVE to give specific names which means we can't rotate players to show up which would be my preference. Aaron, can you find out (by mailing this person again) if we can overcome these issues.? *and for Tuesday: update above

(http://www.nightofhonour.org.uk) According to Roy we can get more people in so if people still feel like coming you're welcome! We agreed on the dresscode: for the guys: a suit, no tie with badmintonshirt underneath, for the ladies: think about Mies van der Rohe's famous phrase; 'less is more' lol We will meet up at 5pm in Chinese nr1 for a meal before heading to the show which starts at 7pm. Let me know if you want more info. - secondly the Christmas dinner. Its scheduled for the 11th of December and if you like to join us let me or Rebecca know! (for more details and menu see page 71). I Think we managed to get a discount price for £12,- (is this right Rebecca?) - as you all know we all pay 10p extra each week to provide shuttles for the group. Can I ask everyone to return the shuttles at the end of the night as I am now missing half of them..... cheers - I like the idea of a league but would it be possible to sign up something like 2 mixed double teams? And then rotate the people playing so everybody gets some playing oppertunities without the obligation of having to play every week? Aaron can you do some research on this and propose something more detailed? I am really pleased that people who join us for the first time really enjoy it and come back. Good spirit guys! Hi Andrew Well we are just a (now quite big) group of people who like to play some games of badminton each Tuesday night at Ponds Forge. We are players of all levels, ages, nationalities, etc. We just play for fun and normally get down to the pub afterwards for the rehydration So if you would like to join us; just leave a message here and we will count you in. Shuttles will be provided (we charge 10p extra to buy these for the group) Hope to see you soon!
