Sheffield Tuesday Badminton Group Hello everyone. This is the thread of the Sheffield Tuesday Badminton Group, after over 1650 posts on the original thread we decided to start a new one with a short introduction of our group and how it all works. - We are an open group of badminton players of all ages and levels. No standard required and everyone is welcome for all/one evening! Everyone gets to play and the atmosphere is a change to an uber competitive club. - We play every Tuesday from 8pm till about 9.30pm at Ponds Forge after which we will cool down in the local pub. - Shuttles will be provided. Racquets are for rent at Ponds Forge. - Costs will be dealt with afterwards but are usually around £3,50 (this includes 10p for shuttles). No membership fee! (We are not a club as such) - Signing up preferably before Sunday night in this thread. The list of people signed up is constantly updated for each week. (Please note that the list might be on a previous page) - Socials are occasionally organised and ideas are always welcome! (Socials we have had are for example; Sunday roasts, Xmas dinner, leaving dues, etc. More to come soon!) - We have designed our own badminton shirt which is available in 8 (very bright!) colours. (Our models show them off every Tuesday night:hihi:) - For all new people: if you would like us to wait for you @ reception just let us know. So far this group has proven itself very popular and new people settle in very quickly so far. So if you feel like joining us, just leave a message and we will see you soon!

I am Dutch and I still wear the original wooden clogs when around at the farm! they take a bit of time getting used to but then they are great! have had them all my life as my grandfather was an clogsmaker so I think we should bring them back into fashion!

Badminton 22nd January Location: Ponds Forge Time: 8pm Everyone can sign up again. I have booked 4 courts to start with this time so I need a lot of people! They always book those in for Wednesdays. So I propose a evening (45 minutes) of football on Wednesday the 30th of January. Can you please let me know if you're interested in playing? (level doesn't matter again! its all about fun (and the drinks afterwards )) Cost for the pitch is £37,- so depending on how many people sign up, it will be around £3-£3,70 pp. (I haven't booked yet as I need enough people first!) Gareth, We have booked the only other court available which is from 8.45 to 9.30pm. so for the first 45 min we have 4 courts and then 5. I would say he is welcome as people often don't mind taking a rest.

Aaron, I have booked 4 courts so we can have 16 people playing at the same time. With you and Agnes we would have 22 people so I guess we could do with another court. can you try to booking it?

@mel and all other interested people: We are a group of people who play every Tuesday at 8pm at Ponds Forge. We are of all ages and of all levels so everyone is welcome! Costs depend on the amount of people who sign up but its always around £2,50/£3,- (inclusive 0,10p Shuttlemoney as we will provide those). Hope to see you there!

@DD, we always play on Tuesdays I am afraid. it's only happend ocasionally that we played on Thursdays so it might be worth keeping an eye on this post.

I managed to get a good deal in shuttles in Holland so I used our shuttlemoney to buy some plastic and feathers so we should be fine for the next lightyears to come
