I don't mind, I love autumn.
Â
Nothing better than wrapping up in your woolies and taking a walk through some very colourful woodland, kicking the piles of leaves and feeling the sun .
-
Thank you all for the recommendations.
Â
She doesn't have a problem travelling, we've just done a drive to Ireland and back, so the airport run isn't really an issue.
Â
It's just a family holiday, bit of sight seeing and plenty of time by the pool (hopefully). But she does catch the sun quite easily being fair skinned which is the reason for asking as she isn't used to the heat.
Â
I will check out some of the suggestions!

It depends on what time of year you're planning on going. Cyprus is extremely hot for even an 11 year old, during the six weeks holidays.Â
It will be during the school holidays, it's the only time I can have off work. The heat was one thing I was worried about.

Looking at going abroad next year with an 11 year old child. She has never flown before and it's been a long long time since I went abroad too. Can anyone recommend or advise against anywhere for a first time visit?
Â
We've been looking at Spain and Cyprus, although Cyprus looks like too long a flight for a first time. Open to any suggestions other than those two places though.
Â
Thanks.

There is a company called 'Siku' that do more modern toy trams. I don't think they are in the UK but do sell via Ebay, play.com.
Â
Try googling Siku.
Â
Not easy to find, toy trams are they!

I bet the Doreians wear grey jim-jams!Quick! ... back on topic now before we get tumbled! ...
Â
I haven't seen many puppy staffs around P Cross lately. Hopefully that's a good sign!

'You telling me there's Parsonians who go shopping in their pyjamas!?I may have to investigate this!
Â
I've seen loads unfortunately. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't for one a few weeks ago who'd been wearing the same ones for a month without washing them . Not isolated T'Cross though!
Â
Thankfully the staff in the store are nice and friendly, well, most of them .
-
There's nowt wrong with Fuggs.Â
Of course there isn't! (Now take them off your feet at once )
-
uggs??? surely parsonians cannot affford them, well in the OP's eyes anyway, however i disagree. Although the post is quite funny its also quite demeaning, most people in the area look after one another although there are a few yobs but thats everywhere, even in crookes!!Â
Unfortunately there are more than just a few .
Â
I know a few people who fit the parsonian stereotype, however even those laugh at those who go shopping mid afternoon in pj's and slippers. Especially when they turn up in a taxi . I could understand if it was morning and they lived across the road .

Uggs!! PJ and Uggs kittentaÂ
Uggs? They haven't got Uggs! They have pretend Uggs that make them look like they are walking on the sides of their feet .
-
I'm so disappointed in you Alcoblog . You missed out the PJ and slipper wearing crew!

Does anyone know of any decent youth clubs around S5, S6 or nearby?
Â
Daughter is due to go to Guides but she wants something extra to, preferably one that arranges days out, trips, activities etc rather than just a hut meeting every week.
Â
Thanks .

Oh!....a typo?....those keys are nowhere near each other!Â
But hey...I like the word anyway!
Â
Nope, no typo .
Â
Whittling about it.Â
Chipping away at a piece of wood to keep you occupied and take your mind off it.
Â
Where did the t's come from .
Â
My mother always used to tell me to stop wikkling
Â
But anyway - good on you for handing it in op. Too many people nowadays that would have gone through it and left the remains where it hung .

I was in Meadowhall the other day and heard similar comments been thrown at a young mother sat on a bench. You could figure out what she was doing but you couldn't see anything. I felt so sorry for her.
Â
If lads can walk around with their hands down their underpants in public and young girls with skirts around their bum cheeks then I'm sure you can breastfeed in public! If people don't like it they are welcome to look in another direction.
Â
You are giving your baby the best start in life and you have no reason to be ashamed of that.
-
I used to use those too, on the cables and the spokes. They made a fantastic noise!
-
A young girl is still missing and as of yet there is no evidence to suggest what has happened to her.

Please keep comments factual and refrain posting offensive comments, there may be members of family or friends reading this thread.

Thanks . It just seemed strange that it wasn't just mine!
-
It's the same for us. I started full time and we no longer qualify.
Â
Sickening really isn't it, we work our backsides off and have to struggle financially as a result whilst others choose to be on benefits completely (not everyone, but a lot) and get everything thrown at them. Rent paid, no council tax to pay, where I live they are all off on their jollies too, many of them abroad.
Â
I sometimes wonder if it's all worth it!

Just been to Morrisons and it didn't want to accept my card at all. Just kept saying error please re-insert card. It did eventually work and I'd used it at another store an hour before with no trouble.
Â
Called at the Co-op on my way home and there was a woman in front who's card didn't want to work in the machine, eventually it worked, but again it was a Lloyds bank card.
Â
Lloyds say there isn't a problem but I'm wondering if anyone else has had an issue today?

They have messed up by not making drivers aware of the left only lane on the second roundabout. It defies normal roundabout rules and is going to cause as many crashes as the first roundabout now .
Â
I wonder how many attempts these clowns are going to have before they actually sort it out properly?
-
How do you edit the tilte?Â
I can edit the title for you if you tell me what changes you want to make .
Â
As for working, I was told that it would be totally pointless working part time (less than 16 hours) as I would always be worse of money wise.
Â
I was also told, by the Jobcenter, that if I did take a part time position I would still have to attend to sign on and would still be put forward for courses etc as they want you in full time work supporting yourself.
Â
If you make an appointment with the Jobcenter they will calculate it all for you and give you all the information you need as to whether you would still need to attend work programmes etc.
Â
Is there any reason why you can't work full time?
-
I once remember watching that haunted whatever program live (can't remember the name). They decided to call out to the spirit and asked it to flicker the lights if it could hear them, next second all the electric went off on the street and house alarms start going off (as they do). Now that really spooked me!

All happy and unharmed we can assume?
Ground frost in August

That doesn't surprise me really after reading this from the Met Office,
Â
Temperatures dropped to -2.4 °C last night, with some stations recording their coldest ever August temperature!
Â
I did wonder why I was sat suffering with goose bumps!
