  1. Hope this is ok with the mods. Today I left my keys hanging in my front door when I went to work. Thank you to the electrician man who was putting business cards in letter boxes for locking my house and giving them to next door! I am very grateful. So if anyone wants an electrician who is obviously trust worthy here are his details: Francis K Tshibangu 07984370530
  2. My 100th Shamble - was really great too. Thanks to the new bloke that kindly gave me a Tunnocks caramel wafer too. Lovely.
  3. We did this walk today. Parked at the first free car park after turning off the main road. Walked alongside Derwent and then Howden and then finally found a stone bridge to get across the water and walk back down the other side. It took us nearly 5 hours so i'm thinking and feling like it was closer to 15 miles? Its worth it though. Not many people around mid week, even the sheep seemed surprised to see us.
  4. The 12 mile version is appealing to me. I think its a lovely area out there. I will do some map work too. Thanks
  5. Hi I am thinking of walking from Cutthroat bridge around Derwent and Howden reservoirs and back. Does anyone know what distance this is please?
  6. Thanks for your thoughts. It was a crappy little place anyway - wont be going back. I think I was just annoyed that they didn't have fish at the sea side!
  7. Decathlon are doing some kids ones for a tenner.
  8. Hello Just been to the seaside for a few days in very cold January. Had tickets for the theatre and really fancied fish and chips before hand. Our B&B recommended the local pub for meals. I popped in and checked the menu 'traditional fish and chips' - sorted. Went back later and we orderd 2 lots and 2 drinks. After 10 mins the bar lady came over and said they only had one fish ( ?? Really at the seaside!). We said no problems but we really wanted fish so we would try somewhere else. She then offered us a refund for the food but refused to give us a refund for the drinks. I explained that we didn't want the drinks - we hadn't even started them and just wanted to go somewhere else. A massive argument ensued and because of time constraints we left without money for the drinks. Just wondered what people thought - were we entitled to a full refund or was she in the right to not refund the drinks? many thanks
  9. Don't forget the unforgetable Panto!
  10. Hello All Please note New Date - we were snowed off last time so fingers crossed for this one.
  11. They did do really well and considering how many of us were there. Nice veggie option and asking for veggie gravy wasn't a problem for them either.
