  1. Can anyone tell me if its possible to close down a yahoo email address.

I could of course just ignore it but i would rather close it down as its become pretty intorable with spam and rubbish.

I cannot see any link that allows me to do so.

I have reopened a new account but just want to leave my current one behind

  2. was reading a story about a Sheffield family who fell ill in Mexico obviously with food poisoning and reminded me of a holiday I took in the Dominican Republic in 2004.

I fell violently ill with the same symptoms I was in a right old state and had stomach cramps as well as sickness and the <removed>.

I was bed ridden for 3 days and never really came round.

Now in my hotel the restaurant area's were open they just had a straw roof and birds were flying in and taking the food and also the numerous drink machines around the grounds every time I wanted a cold drink I would be welcomed by a hord of wasps up the tap before the drink came out.

I totally blame the lack of hygene for my illness and this has put me off visiting tropical Countries and I have never been further than Egypt since.

Also on the same trip my luggage went to the USA and was 4 days late but that is another story.

Has anyone else had this horror abroad

  3. I just love this thread as my Dad had a motorbike and sidecar in the 60s and we travelled extensively in it.

It had a front and back seat and entered through the side door but can't remember it having a hatch on the roof.

It was a red sidecar and was pretty old then, maybe made in the 40s or 50s but the one thing I do remember is the smell inside the sidecar, I wish I could have a wiff at that smell today

  4. Theres bunch of bad actors in Corrie at the moment and would like to see a complete overal.

I think Les is a decent actor, no Lawrence Olivia but he does hold his own and suprised he has decided to leave unless he's been given the old eav ho.

I ain't got a massive amount of rspect for soap actors infact if they have not graced the theatre then there not great actors in my opinion...Some of the gang are really good at what they do but I have suspicion of the long termers that are scared of the real world of acting and that is the theatre

  5. It was found several decades ago that where the mentally ill are concerned 'locking them up in an asylum' was morally wrong and, harmfull to both the inmates and society in general.

You're clearly quite disturbed yourself. If you continue to have your shopping disrupted, can I suggest Meadowhall, there's no homeless people there, and, you'd probably find yourself amongst like-'minded' people? :)

Thats not the point, She is simply saying it isn't pleasant been harrassed by these people in town and I agree, why should I go to Meadowhall because of the fear of some lowlife throwing abuse at me.

Time to man up and sort these people out and rid them from the streets.

  6. Live in that persons house for a year or two and deal with idiots day in and day out, come back and tell me how you're still zen calm.

Like a said if you want to have a driveway clear then pay for planning permission or your not the official owner of the driveway so have no call to moan.

Only an offence to block a car in I believe.

That's correct Cyclone it's incase they need to get out because of an emergency

  7. A while ago some of our buskers were on TV do we have to pay to see them now? And didnt Tony Christie have a record in the charts about 20 years ago?

So people are paying £20 to see a has been and a couple of never will be's. I am in the wrong job.

It doesn't matter if there hasbeens or current I would pay to see Tony Christie if I liked his music and was a fan and there's many more I would pay to see to unlike most of the current lot which I would not.

Most concert's I go to are bands or singers that have had there day it's because they bring back good memorie's of days gone by Tom Jones, Cliff and the Drifter's have all appeared in front of my eye's in recent years...

They may not sell record's these days but that don't make them past there sell by date.

I'm not a fan though of seeing old bands without the original members in though

  8. First of all it's not against the law to obstruct someones driveway and the chance's are the resident of the "driveway" has broken the law (Civil Law) by not getting permission to do it, believe me I'm the only one on my road that has paid for planning and registered builders from the council to do it.

However, you don't block it under courtesy and though I can understand people getting sick of school runs blocking them in/out there is no need for the verbal abuse.

  9. As someone who edging getting on a bit (56) Tony Christie would appeal to us lot but I really think he never got the credit he deserves.

I saw him many many years ago and he was terrific but he missed out of the Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck status and I don't know why.

Its probable that the audience in HPB gig were young (correct me if i'm wrong) and many would not appreciate the singing quality of Tony or even know who he is but he didn't disapoint 40 years ago and glad to hear he did not last night.

  10. What a weird post

Why should a band schedule their gigs to suit you??

If you read and undertsand the thread the Op isn't moaning about changing the schedule to suit them it's mearly because of the clash of the football which will probably affect half the audience however not everyone's a footy fan so i would suggest on that merit it should not be changed and the footy fans would have to cut there lose's..Its hardly the bands or the non football fans fault here

    ---------- Post added 29-05-2016 at 07:36 ----------

I'm more surprised that the OP paid £20 to see a pub band!

But how many pub bands do you see on TV...well none but HPB have been on TV and there profile is raised so hence more people see what there like and choose to see them live which is chargable if they can sell the tickets which they clearly have.

Not up to scratch with this concert but isn't Tony Christie also on the bill which makes the £20 ticket price very justifiable

  11. Last night a bloke was checking vehicles and garages on my road at 3am. He was quite stocky in a grey track suit top and bottoms and walking a Shiht-zu or Lapso dog.

He went out of his way to enter my neighbours property by opening gate's and trying there car, garage and home front door.

The dog is obviously a decoy in-case he is pulled by police walking the streets at that time in the morning and he also maybe the first person to pinpoint potential break-ins for this evening.

If your car/van is out on the street in Longley (Herries Drive) area then make sure it's locked.

  12. I have worked 12.5 hour nights on a regular basis for nearly 13 years and did 16 years on continentals before that and I'm coming to the end of the road.

My nights include weekends and they get harder as time goes by.

I can relate to all the comments above and they are ok for a short period.

I have way supassed that and retire in 2019 but the thought of carrying on till then is beyond dread.
