  1. I went to Myers Grove 59 to 63.Went to Blankenberge in Belgium. Stay a night in London then on to ferry in Dover. In Belgium we had some trips. Can,t remember where to.What sticks in my mind most is going out one night and about 7 or 8 of us ended up in a bar.No age limit there so we ordered local beer, all except 1 who ordered a coke when the waiter came he asked who wanted the coke. The culprit held his hand up and the waiter proceeded to give the lad his coke and then produced a child's dummy from his pocket and give it to the lad .Obviously we were all infits of laughter and the lad went bright red.Happy days.
  2. I also remember Miss Jeffrey's.She was our music teacher and Mr.Sutherd was history.

I remember Mr Hill ,Mr Wray and I think there was a girls head,Mrs Hattersley if I remember correctly. Osgathorpe was ex army I think he started a hiking club and took some of us out in to Derbyshire on Saturdays.Good times.
  4. I went to Myers Grove in 1960.We were 1 of the first school up there.Morley Street.I think there were 2 others started around then .Upperthorpe and I think the other was called St.Georges.Mr.Jackson came from Morley Street with us.In the first few weeks there was a raid by the police. At that time there was only the lower school and they searched everywhere, classrooms, stores, dinning room ,even the toilets. We found out later that someone had stolen cigs from somewhere and brought them into school. They did nt find anything but later that day in the bottom floor toilets 2 of the toilets were block by tobacco. There was also a teacher called Mr Wharton who taught re.He came from Morley Street also.He turned up1 day for a lesson and we notice he had 2 odd socks on.From that day he was known as Eli Oddsocks later shorten to Eli. O happy days.
