  1. I remember miss jowitt who thought she was a bit of a catch??? Won’t go into the gory details . Also Mrs chapelle who taught us to read music which proved really helpful when I went on to have piano lessons. I remember Mrs barefoot but she didn’t teach me. Miss Feely who someone mentioned was rather highly strung. (1970-77)
  2. Ugh! That was the school song when I was there in the 70s!
  3. I would like to give a shout out to Michael Todd ( 1969 ish) . He asked me back to his house in J4 for tea. He was so polite and offered to walk me back to school after. I declined his offer as it was a long way and got lost. A Bobby on the beat came to my rescue. Also to Anthony Hinchecliffe who always picked me to dance on Friday afternoons in the dining room.
  4. St Marie’s school on Edmund road is now a dental surgery. I was there in the 60s and occasionally go back and retrace my route to school from st Mary’s church. I used to love playing on the bombed out houses on shoreham st after school. I thought they might fall down on us.
  5. Yes, I was there through the 60s. When nuns ruled the world and you were whacked on the hands and legs with rulers. Apparently pain is purifying ????
