  1. The changes just show what Travel South Yorkshire is - an organisation that's of little use. That's a polite description. These changes are cutbacks that in some cases will put people off bus travel in Sheffield. They didn't run a consultation. They presented a description of changes and the actual changes are somewhat different. I tried to talk to them at a consultation, but couldn't get near because the people had put themselves behind a desk in a corner. Some other experiences of Travel South Yorkshire. Forgetting to process a ticket application and delaying me getting the ticket, two years running, and conveniently losing my letter of complaint even though I hand delivered it to them. They also seem to be selective on replying to tweets and emails. Perhaps one day they might just think about the customer and do something positive.
  2. I've been looking at the new 31 timetable for Loxley. Possibly a mistake, but on weekdays it shows buses from Loxley to City starting shortly after 5am, but nothing in the opposite direction until 8.30am. Just waiting to see if Travel South Yorkshire can confirm if this is true. If it is that's a drastic cut. If it's an error, how many other timetables have errors in them too?
  3. Why call it a consultation when it's pretty much a done deal. This morning, the driver of the bus I was on was explaining the new route from the end of October to his colleague.
  4. The replacement for the 84, ie the 53 will only cover part of its route, primarily Hallowmoor Road in Wisewood. Loxley Road, Chase Road and Rodney Hill in Loxley all lose out.The 31 and 31a already run round the area weekday daytimes, so the end result is a loss of three 84s an hour. Perhaps someone thinks people in Loxley need to get fitter by walking for 10 to 15 minutes each way to get the frequent bus services at Wisewood! Interesting to see the SL2 going, after all the cost an incovenience last year when they changed the Malin Bridge road layout. It'll now be a waste of money. I've emailed my local councillors about the changes. Still waiting for a reply. Maybe the local MP might show an interest now that he's not as busy as he was.
  5. I went to the consultation earlier at Sheffield Interchange. Two people were stood behind a counter handing out maps and a queue of at least a dozen people. Badly organised. I think it's a bit of a box ticking exercise so they can say they've done it but without putting much effort in. The changes are going to affect a lot of people. Extra journeys to make connections, possibly having to buy more expensive tickets like Citywide too instead of tickets for one company. I've had recent experience of Travel South Yorkshire and SYPTE and their incompetence in dealing with a ticket purchase and subsequent complaint, and now it seems they can't organise a consultation.
