  1. A Twitter bot that keeps watch on Wikipedia pages edited by those inside the Russian government spotted major changes to an entry about yesterday's crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, which killed all 298 people on board. The Telegraph reports that a Russian language page about Boeing 777 accidents that mentioned flight MH17 initially included language pointing to "terrorists" before being changed to "Ukrainian soldiers." Before the edit, the entry read:

The plane [flight MH17] was shot down by terrorists of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic with Buk system missiles, which the terrorists received from the Russian Federation

And after the edit — which occurred about an hour later — it simply said:

The plane [flight MH17] was shot down by Ukrainian soldiers.

  2. Tim,

Says on BBC site 196 bodies found so far, 192 Dutch nationals were on the plane, it must be a country in total disbelief. The way they have treat the dead & their respective countries, is beyond believable, disgusting.

I agree our government & others are gutless, oh Cameron is angry wow.

Agree, Putin is the real power nowadays and holds all the cards

The western world are lightweights these days and will not do a thing.

  3. Agree that some of my posts can appear intensive or amusing even in the darkest threads like this but you see, I have a lot of darkness in my life and nobody knows the half of it and my threads do border on the farcical but I never mean any harm and like to see things like this in an abject manner.

Plus the forum police are that sensitive that they remove harmless banter that tries to lighten the mood, I also do not want to get involved in petty stuff in threads leading nowhere and I also like to read between the lines, something most people are incapable of doing.

  4. PUBLIC TO HAVE SAY ON PLAN FOR NEW SUPER MARKET

Ten new jobs would be created if plans for a replacement Lidl on a Sheffield estate get the go-ahead.

The existing store, on Castlebeck Avenue, Manor, would be demolished, with the new store replacing it, if it gets approval.

Residents have been invited to have their say at a consultation event on July 18 at the Alison Business Centre, Alison Crescent.

Planning consultancy Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners are handling the plans for the development.

Director Jonathan Wallace said the current store, which is 18 years old, did not meet current customer expectations.

He said: “We have worked with council officers in order to deliver an attractive new store which provides a more spacious shopping environment.

“The new store would also generate additional jobs.”

  5. Jeremy Kyle has reportedly been pepper sprayed by a bouncer in the party resort of Magaluf.

Googlebox star Scarlett Moffatt wrote in her weekly column for the Daily Star that the talk show host was pepper sprayed by a bouncer for trying to gain entry to a club with a camera crew.
