Was walking my dog in cookson park, and as i went towards herries road a german shepherd was running without a collar or lead. he looked very lost and scared. should i phone the rspca or the pound??? thanks

it was the weekend after we got him that it happened... i just try and avoid other dogs when in the park now. I live by the Sheffield Wednesday ground. I was looking at doggy classes but i thought maybe 1 to 1 training first incase he snaps at another dog in the class. And because he's an akita, when he looks at other dogs weirdly people just assume i have made him into an aggressive dog when he is actually really loving. Thanks guys, i just need some direction because i'm just confused now.

hi, i recently rescued a dog from sheffield council strays. When we got him, he would pull like mad on the lead, but we have trained him down a lot. He replies to basic commands, sit, stay etc. He is great with kids, he just wants cuddles all the time. But shortly after we got him, we were walking through town and 2 teenagers were attempting to walk their staff/pit bull type dog which was growling and barking at everyone! A few minutes later, the dog had got out of their control and came running up, (without owners) and attacked our dog Now, he has obviously become weary of other dogs, and is becoming a bit aggressive towards them.... Not sure how to deal with it as we dont know anyone with sensible dogs we can try and build his confidence up with.... Hope you can help.x

he's really beautiful, dont suppose you can give me some advice on my rescue dog?? ive had him 2 months now, but he got attacked by a dog which was with 2 teenagers who had let it off the lead. He now hates other dogs and im afraid he is getting a bit aggressive towards them Thanks

i live in s5, and my dog is the same... he just does not get on with other dogs at all. and i hate it because it limits what i can do with him also that website doesnt work, i just tried it. i was thinking i might need 1-1 training before i take him to a dog class....??

Great to see the pics. I saw him on the website about a month ago and thought he was beautiful. I rescued an 18 month old akita from sheffield council pound about 2 months ago! He is an amazing dog, love him to bits.
