I live only a hundred metres away from the park and I am appalled by the behaviour of some of my 'neighbours'. This is a PUBLIC park - fact! Cliffhanger is a PUBLIC event. There are approx 10,000 people from the area that will attend who all contribute their council tax to the upkeep of the park. The park is easily capable of holding the event judging by the scale of last years event. I do not mind having cars parked on my street for a couple of days of this year if that is what happens. We should be embracing any event that promotes outdoor activity and not not flying the NIMBY flag.
Where I do have an issue is people bringing up the tragic death in the park last year. The floods in Sheffield were a once in a lifetime event and the previous poster is incredibly callous and shows no feeling for the family involved in trying to link this to Cliffhanger.
I also have an issue with dog walkers in the park. for the remaining 362 days of the year myself and my family have to put up with cries of 'he's only playing', 'stay still and he will leave you alone' and 'daddy, i've stood in something'. Read the signs neighbours - No dogs off leads!!!, clean up!!!
rant over - enjoy Cliffhanger, I will.
