  1. Faint recollections of Jed ( Kevin) bellowing " BEULLA " across the playground This may have been in admiration of a perfectly struck " LOGAN " inflicted on some poor unsuspecting victim .............. by another pupil ? Used in conjunction with a secondary " DEADLEG" the victim's recovery could be quite prolonged , and never forgotten . Though the expression " PEARLER " may have been the appreciative term for that particular infliction . The rigours of Waltheof Playground Etiquette, may well have befitted a Roman Gladiator ---------- Post added 31-01-2018 at 16:40 ---------- Mr Mawson , once gave Me & Thee 1100 lines to write over the weekend , I recall , after Him witnessing a " battle of the inkwell" spat twixt ourselves. He also bet that you handed in your's before moi' , He was of course , correct . Glad to see you made a career of it , Mr D Still trying to finish mine , for those who stay awake. Cheers.
  2. Indeed , Some extremely odd persons have frequented said grassland in years past ? Sunday Markets , circ@ 1975 / 76 They often drove Viva HB 's and Mk1 Escorts. The new craze was for " Continental Quilts " Denis Moor springs to mind ............
  3. Cheers Steve. Have a good one. It's better to be lucky than to be good.
  4. Hollandisms continued : " For all those little mannekins ( first years ) who have not yet heard rumours of me ? Let me tell you that I am much worse " " Anyone late with their homework will be flogged until they bleed " " Hearson ! " ( Kevin) who was misfortunate to have been ogling the Girls netball practice via the nearby window ..... " Get out into that yard lad , and perform netball with Miss Semmens ( netball teacher ) which He duly did . as if He had a choice. He was run ragged , but never stopped smiling. Kevin H was , and hopefully still is , an extremely pleasant lad who's natural hangdog expression , then subsequent grin , still reminds me of Paul Newman in the Film " Cool Hand Luke " Some Guys ( and Gals) whom attended Waltheof had a pretty tough upbringing , maybe the harshness of the regime was to help prepare us for future life's ups and downs , putting it mildly ? ---------- Post added 17-12-2016 at 21:12 ---------- Nearly forgot " Man Bites Policeman "
  5. Step out here my scruffy little manikin , and let me lay some willow across your sweaty little palms ! I must not swear, you are only little boys , yet. Upon espying " titch" Wright outside the medical room , who had a desire to become a jockey . Ben proclaimed " what's the matter Mr Wright ? have you fallen at the first ? Priceless.
  6. Yo Dude. Regards to M . and Yes , I do remember ............ bloomin eck that was some time ago. Will await P.M,s Welcome to the Delusions of Adequacy Club ! I signed up long - since . Nanoo Nanoo .
  7. Industry Road , Peaked Cap , GreatCoat , DartFoot games no visible signs of intelligence ?
  8. No Pm Yet , But from the names you mention it sounds like you are from the year before us. ? ( we Left Wtf. Easter - 71 ) there were two escape tunnels per anum in those days , though a few went over the wire for various reasons........... Just tread carefully on here , it is not a secure website and personal info often gets hacked . Paranoia rules ................. Cheers.
  9. Very Sadly , after prolonged illness , John passed on a few years ago . We lived within 1 mile of each other for over twenty years without realising it , met again via this forum , and subsequently managed to have a few giggles at our drum from time to time, along with a few invited fellow Stalag - Waltheof internees . A Good Lad gone.
  10. Your Dad ( Ernest ) Gave a us ( Me and Thee) a rollicking for " Parking" our pushbikes in a heap at the front of your Littledale abode ! well, it gave me mechanical sympathy at least ............... Mr D. was ( is ) well respected for His panel bashing skills , nice bloke too. You had a large collection of Car Badges removed from damaged vehicles that were deemed scrap , bet some of them are classics in their own right now ? Long time now . Happy Times. Regards.
  11. Not that it's any of my business , I Think this is supposed to be a Waltheof thread ? There are specific " Darnall " related threads on this Forum , which a quick search will reveal , and may avoid confusion ? Though at our age(s) probably not . Opinion works both ways, probably best not knowing what the Teachers thought of us ?
  12. [Hope u got my message Ok Dufflecoat ---------- Post added 04-02-2016 at 22:36 ---------- Darnex Predictive text is a pain ha ha Yes, thank you.
