Lol. This got a bit out of hand. I went on the website after realising it was legit and filled it out. Messaged the council though suggesting that perhaps they could be a bit nicer to people in their wording in the future.

Hello. I've just had a letter through about Electoral Registration except it seems a bit dodgy. For a start, the letter asks you to go to elecreg.co.uk (not .gov.uk!) and the security certificate doesn't mention anything about Sheffield council. The domain is registered to some random address in Oxfordshire: Goring House, Beechwood Court, Long Toll Woodcote Oxfordshire RG8 0RR and it mentions a fine of £1000. I'm tempted to tell the council where to shove it really - why mention fines on the first page?! Its a bit strong. Has anyone else had this?

None yet. I've got a big pile of sticks that are surely attractive to some hodgehegs and we garden organically (so no slug pellets). I might see if I can get some off South Yorkshire Animal Rescue though website appears to be down at the moment...

Hi emeryje, My advice would be to keep some chickens on there - that way you have to go up at least every couple of days, gets you into a good routine plus chickens are great fun, friendly and you get some great free range eggs. Just a thought!

We've had ours only about two months but absolutely love it. There were tonnes of fruit trees when we took over plus a shed and greenhouse. The shed was broken into a few weeks back but I guess that is par for the course. We will definitely be keeping ours, just so sad that we are basically paying for other people's mistakes. I think the Allotments Office is brilliant though. They have been really responsive - it must be tough dealing with some of the nutters you get on the allotments these days!
