  1. Hello, I'm one of the explorers who's report on the medical centre you may have seen on 28dl. I'm trying to piece together information on the surrounding buildings, some of which I believe are still in situ, albeit buried, just as the medical centre is. Without going into specifics, the site is on Carlisle Street East - maybe this was actually the "ambulance room" that kingfisher refers to? Does anybody have any recollections of what other buildings may have been adjacent to the medical centre, in particular, in keeping with the same 'underground but not underground' feel? I have an old OS map that shows buildings somewhat matching what I believe to be there, dating from 1955. There is indeed graffiti inside dating from the 50's and I discovered a newspaper page from WWII. I think the place was covered up around '88 when the majority of the Atlas Works were demolished. Any info anyone might have on this fascinating site would be much appreciated
  2. Me too - it looks bloody awful when the verge has a great load of muddy ruts in in, and then it will rain and the whole street gets covered in mud...
  3. I agree! Pubic transport is rubbish! Who wants to rely on someone else to get you where you need to be, stand in the cold for ages, have to sit next to some smelly bum going to Castle Market and pay for the privilege?
  4. Can anyone recommend someone who can carry out the following? (semi-detached in S12) - Re-point whole house; - Repair/re-seal concrete guttering; - Re-roof (I'm assuming this needs doing; outside looks fine but inside the loft it looks in a shocking state! Would obviously need to be seen); - Cap or remove chimney stack. Thanks!
