Ayup chaps, thanks for the tips, I have just tried the 'device manager' ethod but had no luck, I think that I will try buying a new battery for the laptop as im running out of ideas now. WHat if I try taking it to a computer shop, will they charge me to get a diagnosis?

yeah defo, i have just tried again and the laptop has come on and with only 6% charge left, the 6% is holding with the new cherger plugged in, just like the other charger does. But for some reason, it just wont charge

see thats what i thought mate but wouldnt the laptop still work (minus the battery) if plugged into the mains?

Hi all, I recently bought this laptop here from the forum a few months ago, when i bought the laptop the lady told me that it would not charge up and that it would only hold charge as the charger is knackered. One day my missus decided to use tje laptop without plugging it in and drained all the rest of the battery away! I have since bought a new charger from ebay but the problem persists! Anybody any ideas? does it sound like a battery problem? im not sure it is as i thought you could still use a laptop if you take thebattery out and just plug it into the mains? i know i could do this with my old laptop. HELP
