Have we become too repressed?

I think people in this country have always been repressed, certainly compared to places like Germany, France, Denmark, etc . I don't know if it's the Victorian era that's just carried on, or not, but I have heard that said.

I caught about a minute of this utter dross, It's come to something when telly time has to be filled with garbage like this, It served no sensible purpose whatsoever. And no I'm not a prude, I'll watch most things but this did'nt deserve the money it cost to make.
