DeZeus
New Cars now have a Type 2 Charger Plug, Could some knowledgeable Electrician/Ev PodPoint installer advise me if this could be changed on my current POD Point to have a type 2 plug installed? I mean the Type 1 Plug currently already on being changed to a Type 2 either the Plug or Tethered Lead Quote would be welcome as I’m not Qualified to do this myself?? Hopman
Can you use a Type 1 charger for Type 2? Yes, there are adapters available that allow you to charge a Type 2 EV using a Type 1 charging point. These adapters typically have a Type 1 (male) plug on one end and a Type 2 (female) connector on the other, which allows you to plug your Type 2 EV charging cable into a Type 1 charging point.18 Jan
DeZeus
Thanks Hopman, for that welcome information. However, I was thinking more on replacing the Tethered Type 1 Cable with a Type 2 Tethered Cable, or the unit into the more Modern Type one similar to the Public Chargers Still after a quote, as I am unsure that I could do it Myself as D-I-Y Job? Not being a qualified Electrician…
