goldenfleece
the problem with Chesterfield is public transport from Sheffield....the train service is OK, but then you have to mess about with taxis in Sheffield, etc as the rail station is miles from anywhere useful in Sheffield. BUSES....no idea but I dont hold much hope for a decent regular service. You are more likely to attract punters from the immediate area, that part of North Derbyshire is not known for its fabulous public transport links.....I do know been stuck in their tiny little bus station for 5 hours once.....and slept for 8 hours at the railway station after missing last train to Sheffield......lucky it was middle of August..... and what are you offering that Sheffielders cant already get in Sheffield.....you have to really do something very different to seriously target Sheffielders across the border..... sheffieldism
this will probably be a good bar for chesterfield, but its too far to travel for 1 bar - and chesterfield doesnt offer much more than that does it.

2wentypence
isnt there a Pulse n Cocktails bar in Chesterfield- the same company as the sex shops? Whats this all about? Is it a swingers bar?
GHS1961
I wish your venture well, particularly if you are putting on live bands. My difficulty with Chesterfield is the level of violence from drunken yobs. On both of my past two visits, both 12-18 months ago, I was the victim of random violence in the street. Perhaps I was just unlucky, however I have never had quite the same sense of fear for my safety in Sheffield.
