Whirlow Hall Farm’s Summer Fayre – sponsored by GRI Group – is fast approaching. The charity’s biggest annual event on Sunday, 14th September 2014 is going to be a fantastic day out for all the family, and once again, admission for children is FREE.

There will be lots of FREE creative workshops as well as drumming in the ‘Get Creative’ tent sponsored by Simply Health and various demonstrations throughout the day including LIVE cooking and butchery in the Giant Marquee sponsored by Mercury Taxis.

Come and see the Whirlow animals and alpacas in our animal zone.

The Antiques tent sponsored by JCT600 has now been extended to include an exciting NEW vintage section so you can enjoy stepping back in time with style! Enjoy gorgeous home-made cakes in the vintage café! Dust down that old item you’ve always wonder about and receive a FREE valuation courtesy of Michael Dowse: You never know, you may be Sheffield’s next millionaire!

Shop ‘til you drop in the giant craft and farmer market marquee with up to 100 stalls sponsored by Mercury Taxis. Elsewhere FREE activities include archery; tennis; badminton; hoppers; table tennis PLUS Punch and Judy shows; falconry displays and bigger and better extreme mountain biking.

You can go pony riding; have your face painted; try henna; enjoy various fairground rides and slides; see a selection of classic cars and watch the Escalfeld Medieval Society’s re-enactment of a 13th century tournament.

The Musical Beer tent will be serving real ale from Abbeydale brewery whilst playing host to some of Sheffield’s best acoustic musicians.

Don’t forget the Whirlow Farm Shop and Café boasting Whirlow reared and locally sourced produce and the ever popular Whirlow Hog Roast and BBQ to get the taste buds tingling!

The Fayre runs from 10.00am to 4.00pm so be sure to come along and enjoy the fun. Children are FREE and adult entry is £6.00. Tickets can be bought online at http://www.whirlowhallfarm.org or on the gate.

We think you will agree there is something for everyone at the Fayre and what makes it special is all the profits are donated to the Trust ensuring they can continue to deliver their unique learning experiences to the children in South Yorkshire. Hi may I ask why you have to pay £6.00 to enter the Fayre?

Probably because given staffing, security, toilets, stage hire, power, and everything else, they'd make a loss if they didn't, and they're trying to raise money for a charity?

But if it is for "CHARITY" should they not give their services for free???? Plus all the stall holders would have paid !!!!!

Doesn't work like that I'm afraid.

We organised a large city centre event for help for heroes and needed security overnight. They still charged us but discounted the price by 30% as a charity event. All events have costs unfortunately that have to be met.

Stalls do pay but not a vast amount. Charge them a lot (more than they're likely to make) and they'll not be interested.

Take both those into account and you'd make maybe a few hundred quid for charity if they didn't charge. Not worth if for the hundreds of hours involved in organising this event (trust me I know what Sarah and her team do).

It's simply not financially viable without an entrance fee. And six quid is two pints or a pack of cigarettes. It's not much really.
