Janus   28 #1 Posted November 27, 2013 I`m thinking of getting one for cuttings. Anyone else got one?
 Share this content via...
Chez2 Â Â 10 #2 Posted November 28, 2013 I've got one. I only use it to start seeds off when they need to be much warmer than an unheated greenhouse. It helps to buy one with very small seed trays so you can start different types off at one time. Mine came with capillary matting in the bottom to help with watering. I've had it years so don't have many details on it.
 Share this content via...
notbusy   10 #3 Posted November 28, 2013 I have one too. I usually start off my seeds earlier than i would do in my greenhouse.
 Share this content via...
Janus   28 #4 Posted November 29, 2013 (edited) A number of years ago I made several large wooden propagators (about 6ft x 2ft) and used soil warming cables that were controlled with the addition of a thermostat. I was able to set the temperature to be quite specific for rooting the cuttings.  Now, all I want is one of these relatively small plastic ones (seen some on eBay). Although the ones I’ve seen do have a heat source, it is not controlled as such. The temp will rise and fall with the ambient temperature. Would like to get one with a thermostat if possible.  EDIT: Just having a look at this site- http://www.greenhousesensation.co.uk/propagators/vitopod-heated-propagators.html?gclid=CIeXhqOPirsCFQTItAodYFQAoQ Edited November 29, 2013 by Janus
 Share this content via...
