Pram is short for perambulator. Surveyors use a perambulator to measure distances.

Yeah, a group of nutters (american of course) would pay tramps to fight each other, it was a popular series, for nutters.

Anyway, before I get mardy again and complain that the threads gone off topic I totally agree about prams. Im the same, I must click on loads of for sale ads just to find out what theyre actually for!
