Any recommendations for an international removal company?

Hi,

I wondered whether anyone knows about or has used an removal company that operates internationally and charges decent rates?

 

We are planning to move from Sheffield to the North of Gemany and while I have heard people talking about companies that organise their trips so that they take stuff back from abroad on the same trip I don't really know how to go about finding them.

 

Any recommendations, advice and ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We used Pickfords to move out to Germany in 2000 and again to move back in 2003. Price wise they were about the same as the others, no dearer, no cheaper. Couldn't fault the service at all though. They packed everything very carefully and we had no damage either way which was brilliant. The lads were really friendly and worked non-stop.

 

When we moved to Germany, you were not allowed to move in or out on a Sunday or Bank Holiday so just check it's not a public holiday on the day you plan your removal van to arrive. This may have changed now of course.

I too used pickfords to move my stuff to australia.

 

Good price, a few mistakes to start with but sorted out very quickly when questioned and delivery was bang on time. They even rescheduled the days delivery run to coincide with my work times.

We used Specialised Movers, for moving Rawmarsh > Dublin (large 3 bed detached's worth of stuff), not too many years ago.

 

Local firm, good rates, good & professional service (no mistakes & no breaks, and there were some fairly old & fragile furniture items).

 

Never hesitated to recommend them again & again over the years

Thanks, that is really helpful. I will contact Pickfords and Specialised Movers and get quotes from them. Thanks too for the info on No Sunday/Bank Holiday moving, Sproutbum - oh dear, that is something I find rather scary! I will check out whether this is still the case.
