Victoriab   10 #1 Posted January 30, 2013 Im considering offering this service & I would like views please. The finer details haven't been completed so nothing set in stone yet just wanted views on the idea. It will maybe work as follows  We will offer a childcare facility in an ofsted registered room with ofsted registered NVQ qualified child carers where you can drop your children in slots of 2 hours while you go off & do whatever you need to do. Shopping, lunch, Gym, meetings, catch up on sleep, housework, dentist anything really, your time is your own to do as you please so there is no restriction etc. We would charge say £5 per 2 hr slot & the children will do activities etc with the child carers. As we will be ofsted registered the ratio's will be the same as in a private nursery etc. All you would need to do is drop off with anything the child may need, pay for the allocated time then go about your business until collection time.  Is this something you would consider as a parent? It is not a full time childcare facility just something to help Mums, Dads & carers with the crazy life's we lead.
 Share this content via...

pottedplant   10 #4 Posted February 1, 2013 when there were similar creches in meadowhall and mothercare in sheffield city centre I used to use them lots.  it may be worth the OP finding out why they closed.
 Share this content via...
stingray-man   10 #5 Posted February 1, 2013 I can't imagine £5 for two hours would be viable IMO, how many children would you be allowed to cater for ?, as it would have to be quite a few to cover wages/expenses rents and insurance I imagine ..... Victoriab   10 #6 Posted February 1, 2013 It is an existing business in S20 & I am looking to make use of the space I have that is just sitting there during our opening hours in the week. Due to the nature of my business we are already insured we just need to be OFSTED registered & due to the nature of my business they have already said it will be simple. The staff have all of the relevant qualifications so it's simply just a case of advertising & registration. I am also an OFSTED registered childminder so know how it all work, what they expect etc. The feedback I have had when speaking to my customers has been fantastic just wanted to ask further afield.
