howsmicha
Hi all.Does anyone remember the old woodside brickyard on chesterfield road. My wifes father and grandfather worked there for many years . I can vaguely remember it myself as a working brickyard but her grandad was moved to open a new brickworks in Heanor in the late 1920s. Her father remained at woodside until the second world war meant he was required for other duties and never returned. does anyone know or remember when the brickyard closed down or can remember anything or anyone who worked there.? Thanks in advance and my wife and i will be pleased to hear from you.

It would have been around 1953 when they were there. My Mum's name was Vera Johnson and my Aunt's Pauline Sherwin. No idea when it closed though. I'm sure the info would be available on google.
