lisandaz
hi, im hoping someone might have been in a similar situation to me and be able to help sort out where i could hire a car from i have a valid driving licence which i have held for 15 years, recently changed the address (last month) and dont have a credit card although i do have a visa debit card and valid passport if required??? ive been looking online to hire a car for a weekend but it seems everywhere requires a valid credit card which i dont have..... any ideas of a car hire firm that hires out to someone without a credit card and whoes licence has recently had the address changed.... if so would i need to leave some sort of bond or the like??? thanks in advance for help. GrannyGranny
I wouldn't think the change of address would have any affect. Why not just ring up a few companies and ask. Enterprise on Queen's Rd always seem reasonable to deal with when I've hired from them. Or else try the smaller companies.
telekoness1
Have you tried Arnold Clark? http://www.arnoldclarkrental.com/ I find them cheap and have hired cars and small vans from them without a problem.
lisandaz
thanks for replies , phoned a few up who were willing to do debit cards, also change of address didnt matter arnold clark were best, they only charge the amount of the car and the insurance excesses but they have an option to waive this at a cost of £10 a day just thought i would record my findings should anyone else have same issue
Mr Softee
Just be careful with Arnold Clark, they don't always do unlimited mileage and if you go over the set mileage the charges are ridiculous! I've used Lynx Car Hire in the past with a debit card and they're pretty cheap too. http://www.lynxcarhire.com
