astraman Posted March 13, 2012 Share Posted March 13, 2012 Can't help you with the Nikon mount, but I used to have the 28-70 f2.8 for Canon. Built like a tank, pretty fast focusing and image quality not far off the Canon 24-70 f2.8L. However, it always felt a bit clunky to me and I just couldn't really get on with it. andy_LT Posted March 13, 2012 Author Share Posted March 13, 2012 i've seen some raving reviews about mid range tokina lenses. i own tokina 11-16mm f2.8 which is better than nikon 12-24mm (!) also i have tokina 100mm f2.8 macro lens, which is again superb. so want to get another mid range too.
