Craft Lessons in Sheffield

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I'm planning on starting some weekend craft courses in the city centre and thought I'd check that there would be enough interest before I plan it all!

Courses I can offer:

Jewellery making classes

-Introduction to beaded jewellery

-Introduction to chainmail jewellery

-Safety pin bracelets

-Making recycled paper beads

-Simple jewellery with cords and knots

Other courses

-Sock monkey making

-Scrapbooking

If people are interested could you please pm me or reply and let me know which courses and whether a Saturday or Sunday would be best for you. I won't hold you to anything, I just want to know what would be most popular!

Thanks :)

Hi CraftCrazy. All of those sound fun! How long would they last/how much would they cost? I don't have much free time on weekends! Also, whereabouts in the city centre? Thank you x

Sorry for the late reply Deb, I've been on holiday :)

I'm thinking of holding the workshops in the Nichols Building, S3.

Jewellery making classes

-Introduction to beaded jewellery (3 hours, make 2 pairs of earrings, two bracelets and a necklace, £35)

-Introduction to chainmail jewellery (3 hours, make one pair of earrings and a bracelet, this is very dependant on how easily people get the hang of it so I like to allow plenty of time, if people finish early they can always make more! £25)

-Safety pin bracelets (2 hours, make two safety pin bracelets £20)

-Making recycled paper beads (2 hours, make a selection of handmade beads from craft paper, newspaper, magazines etc, £15)

-Simple jewellery with cords and knots (2 hours, make a pair of earrings, necklace and bracelet using cord, £25)

Other courses

-Sock monkey making (3 hours, make one sock monkey (and extras if there is time leftover), £20)

-Scrapbooking (3 hours, use book binding techniques to create your scrapbook, and then start filling it up (£25)

So far I have had most interest in the jewellery making classes, but please message me if you're interested in any of them.

I've had a few emails asking the same question so I thought I'd better clarify:

The classes are for beginners, I allow enough time for complete beginners to finish all of the projects, so no one needs to worry! But if you are more advanced and finish early I won't charge extra for you making a few more pieces and I'll gladly help you work on extra things.

Thanks everyone :)
