smog
Woken by honking, very loud bang and shouting last night about 3.30am. Was it joyriders - does anyone know? Very glad I got an extra hour in bed, as I couldn't sleep for another hour or so after.

Sheffair1
Also heard a big smash about 3.30am or what ever time it was. Bits of car debris on Taplin/Oakland Rd today. Got back home from work about 2am and there looked like a gang at the same junction (don't know whether they were involved though).
liddy
It was some idiotical teenagers driving a car (Speeding obiously!) and they smashed into some fences and walls!I was bang asleep but my dad saw it all!!
smog
where abouts on oakland road which junction was closest? I think it was the junction with Taplin, that's where the bang came from anyway.
HarrietStar
god the number of accidents on Oakland road this year is ridiculous!
salmonbones
It's funny when we get a bit of snow, Oakland Rd and Beechwood make some good viewing for people trying to get up/down, seen a fair few accidents last winter!
chocolat
Hi, Did anyone see the driver and passenger who ran off? They wrote off both of our cars and I'm having real issues with our insurance company and can't get anything from the police. The street was an absolute tip but the police and council had it all cleaned up before dawn! People speed down Oakland road all the time I've never heard anyone go that fast! Sorry to hear that, I feel a bit bad about my comment about when theres a bit of snow now! If there is damage to your car, the insurance can't be funny with you if you have an incident number, surely?
chocolat
Don't worry about that! The snow does cause some interesting sights! The insurers wont give us a replacement car (for either of them) until they have a name to persue. We're also very keen not to pay the extortionate excesses and not to lose our no claims bonuses. We should learn not to park next to each other!
