Looking for a used car

Hi,

I am looking to buy a second hand car with small engine 1.0-1.3 preferably with 5 doors.Not more than 90000 miles. Bugdet is up to £1000 with possibility to strech it if it is good car.

Your help will be greatly appriciated.

Ebay is worth a look. You can set it to sort by distance to your post code.

 

Dealer advantages:

• A certain level of comeback within a few months
  If the clutch goes after a month its probably tough buns, but if the engine goes bang 2 months in you might still be ok.
  
• You can test drive with just a license, you do not generally need to be >25 and fully comp insured on an existing car with drive-other-car-cover.
   
  Ebay Advantage:
  
• Occasional bargain
  
• If it is not as advertised then you can still pull out (but if its a 10 year old car you cant pull out over a few scratches not mentioned etc)
   
  Autotrader advantage
  
• Better selection of cars
  
• Probably no more expensive than Ebay on average
  
• Short test drive and changing your mind is not time wasting if you thought you might genuinely be considering buying to begin with.

Something like this would be my choice.

 

Great engine, cheap to repair, run and insure. Not a bad drive as well.
