pippadoll   10 #1 Posted June 18, 2011 We walked past on Friday night and the bar was completely closed. Does anybody know if it has closed down?
 Share this content via...

medicgirl   10 #3 Posted June 18, 2011 Looked open, but empty of all customers (unsurprisingly) on Thursday.
 Share this content via...

Guest makapaka   #6 Posted September 11, 2011 Really pleasantly surprised by food here recently.  Just needs (in our personal view for what its worth);  A couple of straightforward menus (lunch and evening) - bit confusing at min. The bar to be open a bit more consistently. Bit of background music.  Have noticed this place being a bit quiet and was a bit unsure when we went in. But as I said, the food was really good for the money.  Hope it does well cos there's not much like it in the area.
 Share this content via...
whiteroses   10 #7 Posted September 12, 2011 Sadly it's nowhere near as good as Spinroc's used to be. I used to go in regularly when it was Spinroc's but have only been in once since it was Tom Scott's - never again.
 Share this content via...
alas_alas   10 #8 Posted September 12, 2011 A poor show indeed.  I remember predicting it wouldn't last long as "The Grill on the Hill", and sure enough it didn't, nor do I imagine the latest incarnation will continue for much longer.  Crookes just needs to look to Broomhill for a bit of inspiration in terms of the food industry - witness the massive popularity of The York, recently re-opened with a decent food menu and cocktail hour drinks offers, or Thyme, serving good reasonably-priced and fairly unfussy food.  Apart from Zara's, I wouldn't choose to eat out in Crookes any time soon. alas_alas   10 #9 Posted September 12, 2011 (edited) From the looks of the website - http://www.tomscottsrestaurant.co.uk - Tom Scott has either been a bit slack on the web developing front, or they're having an overhaul.
