Coleridge Road School- any memories/ history of?

Recommended Posts

There does not appear to be any recent messages etc. concerning Coleridge Road School and if there is to be a reunion this year.Could anyone let me know if one is to take this year and if so where and when is it to take place.Other teacher who taught there between 1946-1950 were Mr Middlemas,woodwork/technical drawing teacher,Mr Wlide art teacher with his art room upstairs.Mr Thomas, headteacher also with his room upstairs overlooking the school yard. When I first attended there in 1946,boys left school at 14years but this later changed to 15years.I believe our year was the first to leave at 15years.To accommodate this extra intake of boys a single storey prefabricated building was erected in the school yard overlooking Coleridge Road,it was divided into two class rooms,Mr Fitzpatrick had one,Mr Webb the other.I have many memories of my time spent there.
Mick35, there will be a reunion for the old (Coleridge rd school) school at Bankers Draft 7th July Hope to see you there Pete watson left 1953

My husband attended Coleridge Boys School from 1946-1952, and played both Cricket and Rugby Touch for the school. He was in the Cup winning side for Rugby Touch in ?1948 ( teacher was Mr. Fitzpatrick) along with Alan Nuttall; Ray Parkinson; Terry Clark; Sid Bond; Dennis Hull and a couple more.He would love to hear of any of his classmates from that era.

I was at Coleridge Road School between 1946-1950 and knew the boys you mentioned also Wilfred Hull brother of Dennis,Gorden Barrett,Fred Brookes,Alf Corby,Brian Bolsover. Some unfortunately have died but I have happy memories of my time spent there.

Quote to mick35, nice to hear from you even though we was,nt in the same class, it,s still nice to talk about the good old days. I have some photos of the holiday to N. Ireland, did you go there, maybe you can name some of the kids who went. Most of the kids may have been in your class. Are you going to the REUNION tomorrow Saturday, held at the Banker,s Draught, town centre Sheffield, it starts at 12.00 until 5.00 I,m going and quite a few of my pals are at that school in the sky but I've still got good memories of them all. Hope to see you there, 2nd floor Bankers Draught tomorrow,

Regards Peter.
