Autumn Events on the Blue Loop

Hello,

 

Here's the new installment of Blue Loop events, We have a series of walks and leisure activities prepared for the Autumn on the lower River Don and Tinsley Canal area.

 

 

Down by the Riverside

Saturday 25th September 10am- 4pm

 

As part of the Kelham Island Museum Open Day meet the Blue Loop River Steward for a guided walk. The walk will consist of a leisurely stroll along the River Don towards Victoria Quays and back looking for Kingfishers and other wildlife that inhabit the area

 

Meet at Kelham Island Museum.

 

Heritage trail – Discover Sheffield

Saturday 9th October 2pm- 5pm

 

Sheffield is remarkably one of the most influential cities in regards to industry, with machinery and mills at the heart of its culture.

 

Revisit the sounds of Sheffield’s Industry, join a local waterways historian for a heritage trail around the River Don and Tinsley Canal, telling you stories of the areas that made Sheffield proud of its industrial past.

 

Meet at Wicker Arches.

 

Riverside Discovery

Wednesday 27th October 1pm- 3pm

 

Join the Darnall Community Park Ranger and the Blue Loop River Steward for a short walk along the River Don. Then head back to Darnall for some fun river-related crafts in the park.

 

Meet at Darnall Community Park.

 

Ghost Ship

Sunday 31st October 5.15pm- 7.15pm

 

As part of the Halloween festivities, set sail on the dark waters of the Tinsley canal and be told chilling horror stories of the Canal’s past.

 

Come in fancy dress,

Mini bar, drinks and refreshments available.

 

Meet at Victoria Quays

 

Tickets cost: £10 for Adults and £7 for Children

Torch Walk

Saturday 13th November 2 pm- 5 pm

 

Join the River Steward for a torch walk, admire the autumn sunset along the River and finish off with a bonfire on Salmon pastures. Children’s crafts included.
