Kino by the Quays: Thank you to everyone who came to our first Kino by the Quays, we had 22 people turn up to the event and we had a great time. make sure you're in early for the next one at Victoria Quays, September 10th, 3pm! Pirate thursday's will run every thursday with the blue loop and A&G trip boat in August, they are free events to keep your scallywags busy in the summer! most activities are free (some optional activities may be chargeable.) What we have in store for ye!: Free Treasure trails with pirate treasure to be found! Free Pirate arts and crafts with the blue loop. Boat trips with A&G Face painting Free arts and crafts with A&G, Rosie and Jim brass rubbings! ..and much more. How to get there: Parking is available by the hilton hotel (pay and display.) good tram and bus links or S2 5SY in your sat nav. facilities: toilets, benches by the river, cafe's and A&G trip boat. why not join A&G in the Quays cafe, great food at good prices!.. we encourage pirate fancy dress! or maybe dress as a princess, mermaid or ships cat!   7. Love films? The Blue Loop are holding a Bollywood themed film night, 30th July at Victoria Quays. The restaurant Quays 1819 will be open from 6 pm for food and drinks 7 pm - Bollywood montage of film snippets on a constant roll as people arrive 7.30 pm West is West feature film 9.30 pm Finish Admission to the film is by donation. to cover running costs ( any extra will go to the charity and not for profit.) Food and drinks are optional and payable to the venue. Food will be available from the Quays 1819 which will be the normal menu plus an Indian dish (veggie and meat options) On the night we will also have a display about the Blue Loop and the Magic Lantern Film Club! its a great chance to get people together! see our website or facebook below for more details!   8. To Celebrate World Environment Day! 5th June, 2:00pm-4:00pm Join Hellen Hornby our Blue Loop River Steward for a talk on Wildflowers. Wildflowers have plenty of uses Herbal, medicinal & cooking. This event will be exploring these uses and finding them along the canal.We we will also look at what edible plants grow on the Blue Loop and forage for our own samples to try in a lovely herbal brew. The meeting point for this event is at the Wicker Arches. There's lots to forage for, wild garlic, berries, nuts, nettles and bramles which we will be eating! This event is suitable for families, community groups and interest groups. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.

To celebrate Wildlife week, join Simon Odgen for a short twilight walk from Lady's Bridge to Salmon pastures. come along and find out more about the wildlife living in and around the river! event suitable for families, community groups and interest groups. Then and now, Heritage and history walk. 19th May, 13:00-16:00 Find out more about the Blue Loop of past and present. The 4.5 mile circular walk takes in half of the Blue Loop, featuring the unusual wildlife corridors that are the Tinsley Canal and River Don. Join us to learn about the industrial heritage and their new use as recreational and wildlife haven. Meet at Meadowhall South tram stop.   14. The River Stewardship Company and Sheffield City Council are having an Industry Open day! Venue: Family Life Centre, 40 Nursery Street. Sheffield. Come and See the plans for the Nursery Street Pocket park! and Flood defences on the River Don.- weds 4th May! The Open day will include: -Drawings of the Pocket Park and explanation of Flood defences. - Demonstrations by the RSC, including practical conservation work on the riverside, alongside volunteers on behalf of our client, the environment agency. -Existing customers and representatives from community groups will be present to exhibit the range of projects we regularly undertake. -Complimentary drinks and cakes for all Visitors. and Discounted prices on RSC team building days (offer only available at the event.)
