fallen angel   10 #2 Posted July 18, 2010 First of all ,, if your son has an OT then it may be worth asking for a referal to wheelchair services to have an assessement for a special needs buggy ,, the ones they normaly give out are the maclaren major buggy,, unless specialist seating and supports are needed..  other wise you can take a look at this website they are quite cheap in reality to others on the market . http://www.specialneedspushchairs.co.uk/babyjogger_independence.htm  if you want more info please feel free to PM me and i will get back to you or you can leave message on here  regards Helen
 Share this content via...
marie riley   10 #3 Posted July 18, 2010 he used to be under an ot but hes not seen them for a while but i will look into asking my gp for a referal back to them its worth a shot.  he doesnt need any supports on the pushchair  when he walks his legs turn inwards after a while causing him pain this is why im looking for 1  thanks for the link i will have a look at that
 Share this content via...
fallen angel   10 #4 Posted July 18, 2010 if you can remember the name of the OT then its worth getting back in touch direct first with them before going to the GP ,,  as for your sons legs going inwards after a while with walking does he also have physio ? and does he have to wear any type of splints , and gaiters when sitting or even night splints... may be worth looking in to if not already..  is he on any medication for the pain that he has ,, as he should be with the sounds of it...  if not already getting DLA then you need to look at getting a form and applying for help with getting around ,,, and care needs ... would it be hypermobility that your son has, if so just thinking about the splints and gaiters he would not benefit ,,   sorry for so many ? but just trying to help you out hun..  regards helen
 Share this content via...

feline01 Â Â 10 #6 Posted July 18, 2010 Try the Mobility Shop in the Wicker Marie, it's attatched to the Pharmacy. They are very helpful there and in the past they also used to rent SN buggies out for when you went on holiday etc. x
 Share this content via...
