Should organised religion be banned?

Recommended Posts

It doesn't matter on what time scale it would be enforced or what kinds of "hint's" are "dropped" unlike you I'm completely opposed to criminalising being religious. As such you and I are very different.

Can you point to a single society that has enacted such a comprehensive repression of free expression and conscience of the kind you so hamfistedly propose with anything other than disastrous results?

Yes, Mongolia has banned religion.

I suppose you want to do a Blair and bomb everything you dont agree with.

Then go running to that homophobic Pope for sanctuary.

Evidence for these claims please.

 What are you blithering about? How is this supposed to be a response to my previous post or indeed anything?

And if they organise regular prayer meetings what then? What if they find a house isn't big enough and hire a hall?

They wouldn't get tax concessions, they would have to pay for the hire. The neighbors would give them 'hell' over the noise.

Goddy boy would do nothing.

Yes, Mongolia has banned religion.

The "Mongolian People's Republic" greatly repressed religion along with much else, since the fall of the USSR and the "People's Republic" there has been largely free exercise of religion there.

So your one example of the kind of society you'd like us to emulate is a collapsed Stalinist dictatorship. Are you sure you aren't a theist trying to make atheists look bad?

So you are going back on your plans to 'ban organised religion' then?

Seriously, with its shocking record for violence and human rights abuse, I'm amazed its still operational.

Read the OP you can bet that went on for centuries and the Pope hasn't

apologized yet

France has achieved separation of church and state, we are dragging our feet.

How is this any of this incoherent drivel supposed to be a response to my question:

So you are going back on your plans to 'ban organised religion' then?

France has achieved separation of church and state, we are dragging our feet.

Again how is this supposed to be a response to:

Jobee, I would suggest that the Pope and the Priests around him are far from homophobic.

They are just the opposite if anything, any group of people who lock theirselves away from the opposite sex are seriously troubled if you ask me.
