kungfugerbil   10 #1 Posted September 3, 2009 Hi all,  I've just picked up a car that needs a few bits doing to it (regular maintenance, nothing heavy duty like welding etc). I live on a really busy street and dont have a drive or anywhere to work on the car safely. The car is MOTd and Taxed so it's fine to drive around etc. Will only be working at weekends.  Is anyone in a similar spot? If so where do you take the car to work on it? All I really need is some level flat ground so I can get it up on some axle stands.  There's a place in London that rents out bays with lifts by the hour, genius idea. Obviously (unless someone tells me otherwise!) nothing like that round here.  Am I likely to find someone with land they would let me use? Or a trading / industrial estate or similar? Or anywhere public? Any ideas anyone?!  Cheers!
 Share this content via...

kungfugerbil   10 #10 Posted September 4, 2009 You could try the following link: http://www.parkatmyhouse.com/uk/search/parking/petrol/abbeydale-service-station-sheffield/ which lists several private parking spaces for rent.  Thanks for the suggestion. Had a look at the site and it's all private driveways - I can't imagine someone would be too happy at having a car up on axle stands outside their house  Cheers tho. kungfugerbil   10 #12 Posted September 4, 2009 whats wrong with sainsburys car park ? last time i try help u out   I suspect Sainsburys would tell me to leave... And there would be no way of ensuring no-one ran over my feet that would be poking out of the bottom of the car...  I didn't think it was a serious suggestion
 Share this content via...
