Haven't seen the above but nothing surprises me about this press outfit. I posted recently that the grid didn't match the clues in a Gazette Crossword yet they were able to announce a winner! That wasn't the first time this had happened when they assured me the crosswords are supplied by an agency.

Last week's Gazette offered the palindromic answer POOP but the key word in the clue was 'desk' when it should have read DECK!

As was written in a lengthy thread the other week, the paper is struggling and proof reading and checking are obviously things of the past! Staff are working under the 'profit motivated' Johnston Press - everything pared to the bone and then one wonders why mistakes happen (ideally, they shouldn't!)?
